So...I went on a run cause walking really sucks...but anyways, I got home from church on a lovely sunday afternoon, and I remembered that I had to go on a run! As you can imagine, I was as happy as can be...so i got my shoes and found a digital device which was lying about, and I burst out the door so enthusiastic about this assignment...hence it was titled the "fun run". Here are some things which I interpreted on my little adventure...
Just Stop
Yes indeed...a stop sign. I had to stop and think about this one...but it only took a few seconds for this one to come to my mind. I think teachers should STOP giving essays and busy-work and whatnot. Some people, like me and most other seniors, are trying to get jobs and apply to colleges! However, on a more positive note, sometimes we just need to stop and think about our lives. We need to ask ourselves, what God has in store for us and what His will is. But if I may, i think teachers should chew on this for a while...WWJD? Jesus never gave his disciples excessive homework and he didn't stress them out! yet he was still their teacher!
God's Amazing Creation
This picture really explains it all. God is sovereign and he is omnipotent. His creation leaves me in awe as he reveals to me everyday how good He is to us. He provides us with everything we need and ultimately with a beautiful world to live in. He deserves our utmost respect. Enough said...God is AMAZING
Life is a DEAD END
Why do we try to please ourselves? What is the purpose? Our earthly life is one big dead end. One day, none of our earthly possetions will matter. Our only focus should be to serve our God wholeheartedly. Life can suck at times. It isn't supposed to be easy. We just need to look forward to our new life in heaven.
QFC
Thats right...QFC! I love food. I could eat all day long. In fact, i'm eating while i'm writing this...when I go on a run, I think to myself about all of the food I will eat and how I will gain all of these calories right back when I get home. My mouth waters when I imagine the savory taste of corn dogs and bagel bites. That is what keeps me going.
Choices
We all are presented with a number of choices throughout life, some more important than others. However, when i came across this sign. it quickly reminded me of the choices which are laid out in front of me right now. perhaps the biggest decision which i must make has to do with college. It is perhaps one of the most stressful and pivotal decisions of a persons life. Education and career decisions are what determine a persons life. I hope that my decision will lead me to recieving an engineering degree degree from George Fox University.
haha totally agree... just can't wait to see gweis's response.
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh, actually. :) Believe it or not, I try to AVOID giving you seniors homework, just because it means so much fricking grading... For instance: I'm reading this on January 12th, NINE days after you posted it, and the only reason I've found time to finally grade it is because I'm home sick. (Cue the violins.) The stuff I'm giving you to do is stuff that I legitimately believe is important. If you ever doubt that, please-- truly-- ask me the purpose of the assignment.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, if you need convincing that this one was worth the effort, you should read some of your classmates' blogs!
And for the record, Jesus wasn't trying to teach his disciples how to write college-ready essays. :)
Thanks for powering through it Brandon-- it seems like you may have gotten something out of it, in spite of yourself!
